Re:Bronto Headers - 2007/07/10 06:15 I think you should reveal who you actually are Freelance writer. It is clear that you are a shill for the email company that owns this site (lest anyone think it is independent). Unless all you have time to do all day is visit ESP's sites and read emails they send and find fault with them.

Dot Email Admin Here:

RogerWilco, FreelanceWriter is not affilliated with Gold Lasso. No Gold Lasso employees are permitted to post on this board except for me. If you don't like what Freelancewriter says, feel free to debate him. But don't make accusations you can't substantiate.

Re:Bronto Headers - 2007/07/10 21:20 I'm not a GoldLasso employee or client. I don't work for any e-mail service provider. I'm just a part-time e-mail marketer who is fascinated by the field.

If you've read many of my posts, I've challenged the idea that unique sending IPs are superior (and GoldLasso is in favor of unique IPs). I think the quality of an e-mail service provider has more to do with deliverability than unique or shared IPs, and don't see unique sending IPs as having a clear advantage.

And, to the credit of the administrator of this forum, I haven't been banned for having that viewpoint.

By the way, GoldLasso doesn't hide the fact that they sponsor this forum. Just scroll to the bottom: "Dot Email is sponsored by Gold Lasso, LLC" I'd prefer that this forum isn't sponsored by an ESP, but it is. Other ESPs can and do post in this forum, so it seems to be completely open.

ConstantContact has been slammed on this forum, and I posted some positive numbers for them. That's hardly the action of a GoldLasso employee. Then I said I personally didn't care for their default e-mail footer, and that's hardly the action of a ConstantContact employee.

Post what you want. Back it up with evidence.

AuRoper posted a few sending IPs for various ESPs that are on blacklists, and click through the links he/she posted and you'll see that the accusation is backed up with evidence.

With any luck, that will draw someone from those ESPs out of the woodwork to explain the situation, as I noticed someone at ExactTarget and someone at iContact has done. We can all learn from their insight (which, in those cases, were honest acknowledgment and evaluation of the particular blacklists in question).

Rogerwilco, there would be nothing stopping you from getting on the mailing list for a GoldLasso client and posting GoldLasso headers. Check their Web site. They list some of their clients. I guess that would be a test to see if GoldLasso truly is allowing free discussion, now wouldn't it?

(And that last paragraph is a test of whether or not I'll get banned. If I never post again, you'll know why.)

FreelanceWriter, Dot Email Weekly will come out tomorrow from Gold Lasso's server. You are more than welcome to post the header and comment. Anyone else is also welcomed to join him/her.

Re:Bronto Headers - 2007/07/12 16:48 covati, still no plain text version on the latest refer-a-friend e-mail Bronto sent out. I think the count is at three. Might be time to put on your shoes and take another walk to your marketing department... :)

I didn't post info about the sending IP the first time I posted headers as I have for other ESPs. So for the sake of consistency.

Sending IP in inital posted headers, 216.27.63.69.

ReturnPath Sender Score of 60 and accepted rate of 97.9%.

Latest Bronto message received, sending IP 216.27.63.56.

ReturnPath Sender Score of 50 and accepted rate of 97.95%

Impressive accepted rates!

Do a lookup of bounce.bronto.com and bounce.bm23.com on senderscore.org if you're interested in checking out other sending IPs. Just clicking around they seem to consistently be 90% and higher.

Re:Bronto Headers - 2007/11/19 16:56 Checked the headers of the latest Bronto marketing e-mail, and there is List-Unsubscribe: info in the headers now.

The message was also multipart with both plain text and html versions :) (I had been critical of this in the past.)

Re:Bronto Headers - 2007/11/27 20:34 And now the most recent message was multipart with no text version :)

Not related to Bronto, but since the forum admin likely reads all new posts... is anyone else getting redirected to a Russian dating service if they go to dotemail.com? I had to load the cached page in Google, then click through to the forum, to get here.

I tried this on multiple computers with the same result.
