New Yahoo Mail - 2006/10/31 04:17 What does everyone think about the new Yahoo Mail? I love the new interface and I think it's pretty easy to use. It's a huge improvement from the old version.

Re:New Yahoo Mail - 2006/10/31 16:51 The new Yahoo mail may look nice with its new interface but nothing beats the simplicity of Gmail. Those Google guys know what they are doing. They make everything simple and efficient.

Re:New Yahoo Mail - 2006/11/01 03:18 Here's one that beats all of that for email marketers. MSN will now allow you to integrate your opt-out mechinism so instead of someone clicking on the "Spam" button they can click on an opt-out button and be removed from your system. Only if Yahoo and AOL would follow suit it would put an end to all this Report Spam nonsense!

Re:New Yahoo Mail - 2007/01/16 05:34 I like the new Yahoo, but it slows firefox to a crawl when it loads, and it takes too long. If it were more efficient I'd really like it.

And yes, an opt-out button would be very cool, but it only works for legitimate e-mail marketing, not the weird viagra and mortgage stuff I get that crowds my spam folder in mere hours.

Re:New Yahoo Mail - 2007/01/23 00:27 It's too bad that email box providers can't agree on a standard to help automate the opt-out process. MSN has lead the way on this but I guess the real problem isn't legitimate marketing but rather the viagra, rolex and stock spam.

I completely agree. The mark as spam button is far too easy for users who've genuinely opted in to receive your newsletters to hit. They almost make it tempting! Meanwhile, there is a perfectly legitimate unsubscribe button at the bottom of the mail.

The ESP needs to integrate this into their headers for this to work. I hope more ESPs go this route. It's a great proactive step for ESPs to take to try to reduce the number of people hitting the spam button. Helps their own reputation as a sender, so I don't see the downside to adoption.

I scan headers of commercial e-mails all the time, and the only one I've noticed so far doing this is Intellicontact/iContact. Anyone else know of other ESPs doing this?

Re:New Yahoo Mail - 2007/06/18 16:29 I think others are following through. I don't understand why Yahoo and AOL don't do this? Probably because they want to use Goodmail as a proxy tax.

Re:New Yahoo Mail - 2007/06/18 21:05 Goodmail's ability to get Yahoo, AOL and others on board is ultimately a boost to Goodmail's reputation and viability as a company.

For Yahoo, AOL, etc., any ability to cut down on spam and improve legitimate messages getting through is a plus.

I wonder what additional benefits those partners get out of the deal... percentage of the profits?

There is a list of ESPs who are "able to send CertifiedEmail for you" at http://www.goodmailsystems.com/partners/how_to_send.php

On that list are some ESPs I haven't been all that impressed with as a recipient of commercial e-mails from their clients. And it hasn't simply been due to content.

If anyone is using an ESP and sending certified e-mail through them, how is that pricing structure set up?
